HEALTH CARE CREDIT UNION

                             IMPORTANT THINGS TO KNOW ABOUT YOUR DEBIT CARD

 

1.      You must have a savings and a checking account with Health Care Credit Union in order to apply for the card.  If your debit card is to be joint, all accounts under that member number must also be joint.  In order to close your accounts, all cards must be returned to HCCU.

 

2.      A surcharge fee may be imposed by an ATM operator not holding your account, or by any national, regional or local network used to complete the transaction.

 

3.      If your card is approved you will receive your personal identification number (PIN) in the mail.  Memorize this number and/or keep it in a safe location.  DO NOT keep the number with your card.  You will need this number to transact business at any ATM.  BE SURE TO READ THE ATM SECURITY BROCHURE THAT HAS BEEN PROVIDED TO YOU.

 

4.      Balances on your regular share and share draft accounts are updated throughout the Pulse/VISA systems several times daily.  Please keep this in mind when performing transactions on your accounts. Overdrafts of any ATM account will result in a $30.00 service charge.

 

5.      At ATM's bearing either a Pulse or VISA logo, you can inquire on your share or share draft balance, transfer money between your regular share and share draft accounts and withdraw or deposit funds from either account. The card can also be used at point of sale terminals (such as those in most major grocery chains) bearing the Pulse or VISA logo.

 

6.      Your debit  card is good at ANY merchant displaying the VISA logo throughout the world!  When you present the card to the merchant and it is accepted, the amount of your purchase will be automatically deducted from your share draft account.

 

7.      You CANNOT stop payment on a transaction originated with your debit card, however you can request a credit from the merchant where the sale took place.  If the merchant is unwilling to cooperate, please contact us.  We will need a written authorization to initiate this process.

 

8.      If you have difficulty with an ATM accepting your card, please call HCCU (1/920/233-1140)  immediately. If you make three unsuccessful attempts using a wrong pin or attempt three transactions that will overdraft your account, your card will be captured and there will be a $5.00 fee to reissue your card.

 

9.      You will receive a statement of all of your accounts on a monthly basis.  Report errors on any of your accounts to HCCU as soon as possible using the process indicated on the back of your statement form.

 

10. If your card is lost or stolen, notify HCCU (1/920/233-1140) or MICARD (1/800/236-2442) IMMEDIATELY.

 

11. Health Care Credit Union reserves the right to withdraw debit card services at any time in the event of misuse.
